Tap Start when your teen drives and Stop when you're done. DriveTally counts day and night minutes, tracks the skills you practiced, and fills in the Minnesota Supervised Driving Log form when it's time for the road test.
Coming to iPhone and Android this winter. No account. No login. Your log stays on your phone.
One big button for each drive. Forgot? Add a drive afterward with its date and times.
DriveTally knows when the sun sets where you live and splits every drive into day and night minutes. You can always adjust.
Hours toward 50 (or 40 after the parent class), with 15 at night. Know exactly what's left.
Mom, Dad, Grandma: tap who's in the passenger seat. The form shows who signs at the end.
Highway, merging, parking, snow and ice: one tap each. They go straight into the form's Skills column.
No account, no tracking, no ads. Your teen's log never leaves your phone unless you share it.
Minnesota asks for its own Supervised Driving Log template, so that's exactly what DriveTally prints: every drive in its own row, day, night and total minutes, skills practiced, column totals, and total driving hours. More drives than fit? It adds more sheets of the same template.
Uses the Supervised Driving Log template (Rev. 06/2021) published by Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services.
Unlimited drives, the timer, night minutes, skills and progress. Forever.
Create the filled Minnesota form as many times as you need. No subscription.
Minnesota requires the log on its own Supervised Driving Log template, signed by the primary driving supervisor. DriveTally fills that template and leaves the signature for you to sign in ink. We've asked Driver and Vehicle Services to confirm that a typed copy of their template is fine and will post their answer here.
Teens under 18 need at least 50 hours of supervised driving, 15 of them at night. If a parent completes the 90-minute supplemental parent class from a Minnesota driver education program, it's 40 hours, still with 15 at night (Minn. Stat. 171.055).
Minnesota doesn't define it on the form. DriveTally counts minutes from sunset to sunrise at your home ZIP code, which is how most families read it. You can adjust any drive by hand.
No. DriveTally never asks for location. It only uses the ZIP code you type in to look up sunset times, and that never leaves your phone.
Use Export a backup on the Form tab and keep the file. Your log lives only on your phone, so a backup now and then is a good idea.
No. DriveTally is an independent app made by a Minnesota family. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Minnesota or Driver and Vehicle Services.
